Jess & Todd {in love}

I got to spend a few days with one of my favorite people and her family. Since I had never been to Corpus Christi before, and they had just celebrated their 13th anniversary, we thought a beach shoot would be perfect. I can only speak for myself, but I had so much fun! Not sure Todd would say the same, but he was a really, really good sport. Happy Anniversary Jess and Todd. Thanks for letting me hang out with you guys and showing me around Corpus. I can't wait to come back.

A simple math equation

1 beautiful girl + 1 handsome boy = 1 adorable baby!!!

I had the honor of photographing my bestie's lil sister and her family this past weekend. And what a gorgeous family they are. And just a side note, I didn't make baby Noah cry one single time. Honest!

For Tanya

Tanya- there are no words for how happy I am for you and Rex. I can't wait to watch this little one grow up (and hey, maybe we can stop the eye rolling before it starts :) )

Hugs my friend!!

Down on the Farm and being comfortable in my own skin.

A few weeks ago, we got to go visit some friends on their farm in SE Kansas. While I love taking pictures of everyone and anyone, I really hate being on the other side of the lens. I can't look at a picture of myself and not point out all the flaws. And trust me, I can do this with super human speed. So today's post is a little excercise. An excercise in being kinder to myself. More forgiving of my flaws. I am giving myself a few days to post the close up pictures. Easing in, if you will.

Jess took a load of pictures of us, but this one is my favorite. I had this vision and she captured it beautifully. Thank you Jessica.

Ms. Haley {Senior}

Last weekend I had the pleasure of taking photos of Ms. Haley. The pouring down rain, thunder and lightning thought they could ruin our spirits. After sitting in the car, wondering if the rain would ever stop, we decided to reschedule for the next day. And I must say, Ms. Haley came back fiestier than ever. Her boyfriend, Reflector Boy, was there to help and he did a great job making her smile and keeping spirits high. Haley, it was seriously so much fun getting to know you and thank you for making me look like such a good photographer. You are stunning. And Reflector Boy, even though I gave you a hard time, thank you for helping lug around all my stuff and being a good sport.

Meet Ms. Gracie Blue

It's taken me a few weeks to prepare myself for this post. Even now, as I introduce you to the newest member of the Sparks-Curry family, it still makes me cry. You see, a few weeks ago we had to make one of the hardest decisions we have had to make. Our Little Bella Grace, our three year old, hyper as hell girl, had to be put down. To make a long story short, over the course of 12 hours, she lost the use of her back legs. She spent 4 days at the vet, but she never did regain any feeling. We could bring her home, keep her in her kennel for months, and HOPE for recovery - which the vet didn't think was likely. Instead, we opted to put her down and just hope we were doing what was in her best interest. Fast forward to now, and we have a new little pup, named Gracie Blue. She is just a few days short of 8 weeks old, and while no dog will ever replace Bella, this little girl has stolen our hearts.

Krysten and Jimmy {in love}

Last weekend I got to take some 'after the wedding' pictures of Krysten and Jimmy. I had so much fun. We walked around the gardens, totally stress free because we weren't under any time constraints, and just took pictures of the beautiful couple. Thank you both for allowing me to capture you and your love! And Krysten - if I ever hear you say the "h" word again, I am seriously going to kick your butt! :)

Ms. Hannah turns 16

I remember it like it was yesterday. Standing in your doorway, saying goodbye to your mamma and you, and you threw your arms around me, squeezed, and told me you loved me for the first time. It's hard to believe that was 8 years ago, and that you are already 16. Part of me wants to go back to when you were 8 - when you had more time to hang out, back when you thought I was cool. :) But another part of me is ok with you being 16 and DRIVING (really, driving), and being too busy to get ice cream, and all the stuff that goes along with being a teenager. You are such an amazing kid Hannah. To say I love you, well, it hardly touches the surface of how much I care about you. It would be humanly impossible to love you more than I do. I am so freakin proud of who you are, what you have accomplished, and who you are turning into. I am so excited to see where you will go in this world and all that you will do. I hope you know that know matter how grown up you become, or where this world takes you, I will always drop everything at the opportunity to take you for ice cream. Happy Birthday.

Cassie & Jim - the big day

My favorite photos are always the ones where people are being themselves - no posing, no fake smiles, nothing but real, honest emotion. Here are just a few of my favorites from Cassie and Jim's wedding. There were so many posed ones that I really liked, but these I love! I hope when they look back on them 50 years from now, they can still feel the love they felt that day.
